Food Processing Skills Canada Celebrates New Brunswick’s Food and Beverage Leaders

December 10, 2025, Ottawa, Ontario — Food Processing Skills Canada (FPSC) brought together leaders from government, industry, and workforce development on Wednesday evening for FPSC & Cocktails, a celebratory networking and recognition event held in Moncton, New Brunswick. The event highlighted the strength, innovation, and collaborative spirit of Atlantic Canada’s food and beverage manufacturing sector.

Hosted at Tire Shack Brewing, FPSC & Cocktails welcomed employers, partners, and policymakers to recognize organizations making outstanding contributions to workforce and skills development in Canada’s food and beverage industry. The evening underscored the sector’s critical role in economic growth, regional employment, and food security.

“Atlantic Canada is home to some of the most innovative and resilient food and beverage businesses in the country,” said Jennefer Griffith, Executive Director of Food Processing Skills Canada. “Tonight is about celebrating the employers and partners who are investing in people, skills, and the future of our industry.”

The program featured keynote remarks from Mike Timani, Chairman of Food Processing Skills Canada and President of Fancy Pokket Corporation, alongside government remarks from The Honourable Robert K. McKee, New Brunswick’s Minister of Justice and Attorney General and Minister responsible for Addiction and Mental Health Services, and Dany Couillard, Assistant Deputy Minister with the Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour, Government of New Brunswick.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of Workforce & Skills Development Recognition Awards, honouring businesses and organizations that demonstrate leadership in training, talent development, and sector collaboration. Award recipients included:

“These award recipients represent the best of our sector,” added Griffith. “Their commitment to workforce development strengthens not only their own businesses, but the entire Canadian food and beverage manufacturing ecosystem.”

FPSC & Cocktails concluded with an industry reception, providing opportunities for dialogue between employers, associations, and government representatives on shared priorities, including skills shortages, training innovation, and long-term workforce sustainability in Atlantic Canada.

FPSC & Cocktails will continue hosting events in regions across Canada to celebrate food and beverage manufacturing leaders.
