For nearly three decades, FPSC has partnered with employers, educators, community organizations, and governments to advance workforce development nationwide. Together, these collaborations have expanded access to training, strengthened leadership, and created meaningful career pathways in communities across Canada.

FPSC issued more than 54,203 digital credentials and awarded 5,739 certificates through emotional intelligence and coaching programs, empowering employees to demonstrate their skills and advance their careers.

Through job ready skills initiatives, FPSC supported 1,203 student placements and engaged 1,700 job seekers, helping employers access new and emerging talent.

Investing Directly in Workforce Development

FPSC delivered $65.5 million in training investments and provided $7.25 million in wage subsidies, reducing financial barriers to upskilling and hiring.

Strengthening Canada’s Training Ecosystem

FPSC collaborated with 77 post-secondary institutions, funded and supported 488 employers, and established 110 strategic partnerships to strengthen workforce systems nationwide.

Canada’s food economy is one of the nation’s greatest strategic assets, powered by more than 2.36 million Canadians — 11.4% of the workforce — across agriculture, manufacturing, distribution, retail, and foodservice. Together, they support over 397,000 establishments and generate more than $143 billion in GDP, underpinning Canada’s prosperity, food security, and economic sovereignty. With more than 300,000 new hires needed by 2030, investing in workforce development and human capital is essential to strengthening the food system and securing the country’s economic future.
