Industry standards, recognized by accredited bodies, play a crucial role in ensuring consistency, reliability, and safety.

By providing a framework for products, services, and systems, standards help to elevate industry professionalism. National Occupational Standards and their associated certifications exemplify the positive impact of standards on industries.

National Occupational Standards

National Occupational Standards (NOS) outline the knowledge and skill requirements necessary for specific occupations. These standards benefit both employers and employees in the food and beverage processing industry by providing a clear framework for job roles and expectations. Additionally, NOS can be used to develop certification or accreditation programs and inform curriculum design in secondary and post-secondary institutions. By establishing benchmarks for technical tasks, expertise levels, and knowledge requirements, NOS ensure that employees possess the necessary qualifications to excel in their roles and contribute to the industry’s success.
