BC On-Farm Food Safety

BC farmers wanted. Funding available for food safety activities.

BC On-Farm

The BC On-Farm Food Safety program is a key element in FPSC’s food safety and traceability strategy. With this program, $10,000 is made available to establish or enhance food safety in a BC on-farm business.

Program Benefits

  • Identifying and documenting risks through food safety gap-assessment (or pre-audits) to improve your food safety capacity.
  • Proactively mitigating the risks identified through adoption of Good Agriculture Practices or Best Practices.
  • Achieving a third-party On-Farm Food Safety System or Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point food safety certifications through nationally and internationally recognized food safety accreditation bodies.

Due to overwhelming demand, the program funding is completely subscribed and the programs are closed until further notice.

Support for this program has been generously provided by the Canadian Agricultural Partnership, a federal-provincial-territorial initiative.

In response to the COVID-19 situation and the increased need for safety precautions for the agri-food sector, the On-Farm Food Safety Program is providing funding for April 2020 – March 2021. Please download this PDF for more information.
