Introduction to Canada’s Immigration System: Tuesday, May 30, 2023, 1:00 – 2:15 PM EST

In this webinar, we’ll cover the basic concepts of immigration and policy in Canada. We’ll introduce you to Canada’s view on immigration, the difference between immigration policy and law, and the terminology used in immigration. We’ll also go over the major categories and classes of immigration in Canada, including an introduction to General Temporary Programs and access to Canada.

You’ll learn about the players and resources in immigration, including who they are and the role they play, as well as an introduction to Inadmissibility and how it plays a role in Canadian immigration.

Building the Foundation of Immigration: Tuesday, June 6, 2023, 1:00 – 2:15 PM EST

Before you can successfully use immigration to fill your job vacancies, you need to prepare yourself for a successful outcome of the application process. In this webinar, we’ll cover the National Occupation Classifications (NOC) System and how to identify the NOCs in your organization. We’ll also teach you how to draft job descriptions and employment advertisements that contain information to support your immigration efforts.

You’ll learn about the importance of Job Bank and its features as it relates to the immigration process, as well as the concept of Permanent Residency (PR) and the main criteria needed for a foreign national to meet PR.

Canadian Immigration Programs: Tuesday, June 13, 2023, 1:00 – 2:15 PM EST

In this webinar, you’ll learn about the Federal and Provincial pathways available for foreign nationals to reach permanent residency in Canada. We’ll go over the minimum criteria that will be required to be eligible for these pathways, as well as the differences between temporary and permanent immigration programs.

You’ll also learn how a foreign national obtains a work permit, being work permit exempt, and review work permit conditions and restrictions. Finally, we’ll be familiar with work permit applications, fees, and processing times.

Temporary Foreign Worker Program: Tuesday, June 20, 2023, 1:00 – 2:15 PM EST

Many Canadian companies utilize the Temporary Foreign Worker Program to temporarily fill their job vacancies. In this webinar, we’ll outline the factors considered by the government when approving an application. We’ll also review the steps to prepare a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) while understanding its critical components.

You’ll learn how to become familiar with the LMIA application process, the necessary components of the application, how to perform the recruitment process for an LMIA, and be familiar with processing times and government fees. You’ll also learn how to meet employer compliance obligations and avoid fines.
