Nick Noorani

Nick Noorani, originally from Mumbai, India, arrived in Canada with a rich background in the advertising industry, but he encountered numerous challenges as a newcomer in his adopted Canadian home. Recognizing that many immigrants faced similar struggles, Nick committed himself to enhancing immigrant outcomes, benefiting both newcomers and his adopted country.

His notable initiatives include founding Canadian Immigrant Magazine and establishing the Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Awards. Nick is also a bestselling author of “Arrival Survival Canada” and was the Founder and President of Prepare for Canada. In 2013, he authored “Welcome to Canada,” the official publication distributed to every newcomer to Canada by the Government of Canada. Additionally, Nick was appointed by ESDC as the Chair for a Panel on Immigrant Employment Challenges.

In response to the challenges posed by the 2020 lockdown, Nick began assisting newcomers who had lost their jobs by revamping their resumes, cover letters, and conducting mock interviews. This experience inspired him to create Immigrant Networks, a platform leveraging cutting-edge technology to facilitate peer-to-peer networking among immigrants through weekly video chats. Immigrant Networks utilizes proprietary software to match newcomers based on their professions, fostering valuable connections within the immigrant community.
